Matt Angell made his first step into music at a young age, when a kindly school teacher lent him an old guitar, which had blown out the back of a ‘Mini Moke’ and a sheet of paper with a few chords on it. Growing up in Karratha, a small mining town in Pilbara, the young musician mainly taught himself to play from books and old records. As time went by Matt developed his own unique style with the rugged landscape and isolation of the Pilbara infused into his songwriting and music.

Being in the music industry for over a decade, Matt has now released three Albums and two EP and has taken his music across Australia. He's also made his stamp in the festival circuit, with his opportunity to play at the Airlie Beach Music Festival, QBBBB Festival and Beef to Reef Festival.

Naturally captivating on stage with his talent on the guitar and harmonica, his distinctive style of music is a hybrid blend of Roots, Folk, Blues and Alt-Country. With a smooth easy listening voice, Matt Angell is the perfect package for your next event.
